Prepare a set from an Apple Music playlist

Mac only

Your selection is already made in an Apple Music playlist. You want it out as AIFF, or on a USB stick, without hunting for the files one by one.

Settings, just once

Open Surco's Settings (⌘ , on Mac) and find each option by its name.

  • SettingsOutputWhere converted tracks goOutput folder

Just below you pick the folder for the set, or your USB stick.

Then, each time

  1. 1

    Import the playlist

From the start screen or with ⌘K, choose “Import from Apple Music” and then the playlist.

  2. 2

    Check whether any are missing

Surco loads the files you have on disk. Streaming or undownloaded tracks are counted apart, as “with no file”.

  3. 3

    Pick the format

In the arrow next to the convert button, AIFF for example. Otherwise each track keeps its format.

  4. 4

    Click “Convert”

The copies go to the folder and your Apple Music files are left alone.

  • If a file is missing details Music has, like the year or the artwork, Surco takes them from Music.
  • Surco loads the playlist as it is. If you add tracks to it later, import it again.
